- Department of Public Health Dentistry functions with the theme of “Placing People’s health in People’s hands” and deals with the art and science of preventing and controlling dental diseases and promoting dental health through organized community efforts.
- Advancement through quality research and education in oral disease prevention and health promotion.
- Community service with specific focus on children and disadvantaged population therein creating healthier communities.
UNDER GRADUATE PROGRAMME:
- Availability of well equipped Smart class lecture halls and well furnished clinics for practical and theoretical knowledge up gradation.
- Students are encouraged to participate in various curricular and co curricular activities like Essay competitions, Poster Making, Slogan writing competitions at college, university and at inter college level.
- Regular seminar presentations and end posting evaluation exam at the end of clinical posting are being performed.
POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME:
- Our PG students are trained to become Public Health experts and excel in study designs and clinical trials under the expert guidance of eminent faculties of the department.
- Post-graduate students have to attend workshops, CDE programs, lectures, seminars, webinars and present posters & papers in various national and international conferences to gain exposure to the recent advancements in dentistry.
- Gain practical knowledge in establishing and running tobacco cessation centers as well as well as train their personnel.
- Students participate in multi-disciplinary dental public health research, policy making and oral health programme planning and execution
- Continue to evince keen interest in continuing professional education in public health dentistry and allied specialties.
