Oral Surgery Department Raises Cancer Awareness Through Screening and Lifestyle Guidance
Objectives: To educate the general public about causes of cancer and how to prevent it.
Create cancer awareness and remove the stigma and fear attached
Help people recognize the early signs and symptoms of cancer, thus enabling them to seek treatment at an early stage
Promote Lifestyle changes to reduce to reduce the risk of disease.
Outcomes: World cancer day was celebrated by department of oral & maxillofacial surgery on 4th February 2026. A cancer screening camp was organized in the department and in the OPD of Rama Medical College where patients were examined to detect for early signs of malignancies. Few patients were detected with pre malignant lesions/ conditions were given elaborate details about their conditions and their treatment was started. They were told about various lifestyle changes that could promote healing and prevent the disease from progressing.
